Hello;
After years buying only new B&O gear, I decided to explore the older product lines. As a starter , I put together a nice vintage set up comprised by a Beogram 4004, Beomaster 3000-2 an a pair of Beovox S-55.
The lodspeakers soud really OK, the Beogram will benefit from a new band (a set from Martin is on its way) and a cartridge (probably follow the Sondsmith path) but it's the Beomaster the one that concerns me.
After listening to the radio for two hours, I started to notice a strange noise on the left channel. Something like a false connection or dirty switch. It's very annoying. I thought initially it was a problem on the loadspeaker, I swap them out and the problem moved to the other one. I tried on the speaker 2 connection on the back but it is the same.
Right now the problem starts as soon as I turn the Beomaster on. The noise remains for a minute or so after turning the BM3000-2 off.
Any suggestion as to what could be the cause? Could it be a false contact on the circuit board? A dirty switch? Other thoughts?
Thanks;
