    BM6000 (80's) no frequency readout

    Hi,

before I get into things I thought I would ask first just in case anyone has come across this before.

The amp appears to be working fine except it won't show a frequency readout.

Anyone know of this as a fault?

    thanks for any help,

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

I had similar problems and had mine serviced at B7o Wimborne Minster in Dorset at a very low cost less than £70, I know the tuning cord is around £33 and I purchased a replacement aluminium cover for less then £30

    Hope this is of help.

    Kind regards

    Dave

Re: BM6000 (80's) no frequency readout

In most cases, the frequency readout will show 74.8 and not move anywhere despite the actual tuning working fine. This is a sign that the prescaler IC has gone bad (long out of production but I have a few in stock) but from what you write, it sounds like you have no readout at all, is that correct ?

Will it show the time ?

    Hi Martin,

as usual I wasn't precise enoughEmbarrassed  You are absolutely right 74.8 is all it's showing the LED appears to be fine and showing the time.

I would be gratefull for a chip Yes can I email you tomorow I think I may have a list of things I need.

Thanks as always for your help,
