Well, it fixes issues when you watching HD movies from a mediacenter too.

What happened to SW 4.20 t/m 4.23 ?! In other words: why do they start with 4.24 ?

Internal software numbering... not every release was made available... standard software release numbering... Nothing to worry about

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

Maybe they started with 4.24 instead of 4.20 4.23 in recognition of the 24fprs support?   4.24fprs?

No, it'll be because they were only using versions 4.20-4.23 internally. 4.24 is the release version. All software companies do this.

Beolab, my dealer is installing the new sw update on Monday afternoon, so I'll report back. Hope it fixes all the Playstation 3 white flash issues. No idea if watching a Blu-ray will be improved though, despite the posts on there ;)

I am curious to know if anyone here is having problem with their Appletv + HDMI with BV7 update?

My dealer updated my BV7 a couple of days ago (obviously not sw 4.24) and my BV7 stopped receiving signals from appletv via HDMI.

They are currently trying to work out why and I am using component cable for now.

Anyone else got the similar issue?

Re: Sw 4.24 has now arrived for BV7-40/BS3/BV9

No problems yet, but I'm getting an update soon....

Do you see a difference in picturequality with component cable in stead of HDMI?

Re: Sw 4.24 has now arrived for BV7-40/BS3/BV9

yes, the pictures are darker, some of the night scenes are unwatchable, too dark to make out anything.

but the update improved overall picture quality, not so much HD content, but dvd.

Also, all my 5.1 channel movies (on appletv)  are now without any audio.

So I really wish they found a fix soon.

Regarding the Apple TV, I hope that this update and future updates of B&O television software incorporate new code to actually shut the Apple TV "off" (or, more accurately, put it in "standby" mode) rather than leave it on.

I have a BV8 and I personally called one of the B&O product development guys here in North America to ask that they please do this.  Otherwise, the Apple TV progressively bakes at high temps.

With regard to 4.24, my sources tell me that it isn't available yet on this side of the Atlantic.  Do we think it's coming via Carrier Pigeon?  Or is it a Euro-only update?

Trip, from what I understand our dealers download it from B&O - my dealer is here right now installing the sw update, which they downloaded from B&O HQ this morning.

    BeoNut,

As far as the A-Tv goes, mine is attached to an Avant/US (ccdb 4.7j), and it never turns off.  But I don't think that Apple intends for it too.  In my case me A-Tv is on a different floor from it's 'parent' computer'.  First thing in the morning, or late in the evening, when I'm at the computer fooling with iTunes, buying, deleting, re-arranging, if the A-Tv is off, then I can't 'see' it.  I know that it will pick up all the changes the next time it spools up, but I can't see what changes have already taken place (shows I've watched, available space, etc.)  Really no fun to run downstairs, turn it on, play around, run back down, turn it off ,and then back up to go to bed.  On the other hand mine doesn't run hot to the touch.  Perhaps you have an issue that Apple ought to address?

4.24 sw update didn't get installed. Dealer also came around to connect my ex-demo BV8-26 (with system module) and the BV8-26 and BV7-40 wouldn't 'talk' via masterlink. Spent most of the afternoon wondering why it wouldn't work. Had to leave it without it working, too :(

    Back Wednesday, hopefully.

If the problem you're experiencing involves accessing a source from the BeoVision 7 on the BeoVision 8 I've had nothing but problems trying to get this working in my showroom.  My set up was a BeoSystem in Video option 2, and a BeoVision 7 and a BeoVision 8 in video option 6. We have a Kaliedescape in our BeoLiving room that we wanted to access the audio from on the aforementioned BeoVisions over wireless BeoLink and every time we would try to access the source from one of the video "links" it would lock up the primary video master to the point where we even lost direct Beo4 control.  If this is similar to your set up then it's a known issue and there's is currently no workaround.  I'm not sure it's a problem if you actually run MasterLink to each of the TVs but to me it's one of those obscure features that you always assume works until you try to get it working!

Good luck getting it up and running ... I know how frustrating it can be when things just inexplicably dont want to work!

Re: Sw 4.24 has now arrived for BV7-40/BS3/BV9

    Hi Alex,

BV6-26 is sw upgraded to 1.30a (latest version?), system module installed. Masterlinked to the BV7-40 MKIII.

However, BV8-26 doesn't seem to respond to masterlink controls via the Beo4. Selecting V.MEM causes it to switch off etc etc. V.MEM is my assigned Sky/cable channel for the BV7-40. Select 'DVD', nothing happens. Like you said, the Beo4 sometimes stops working entirely and you have to switch the BV6-26 off at the mains!

Yes, the BV7-40 is the primary video master, with the Sky box and PS3 attached. BV6-26 is just meant to be the slave, where I can access my Sky channels, DTV etc.

At the moment, we can only get the BV6-26 to show analogue TV.

Dealer is calling B&O UK tech support tomorrow for some answers..
