    Beosound 3000 and beoport

    Hi all!

I have som problems to get my beoport to work and have som questions:

Does all BS3000 has the possibility to play N-music with beoport? I have on with the small CD-cover (SW 1.2).

If its located in the same room as my BV7 (opt 2), BS3000 (opt 0) and a Mac with BM-link, does it matter in what option the beoport set to if its connected with ML only?

They are connected by a ML-distibutor box. BV7 connected to Video, BS3000 to Audio and the beoport to one of the other.

I can see in the BM-link that that the mac communicates with the beoport since I was able to do a firmware upgrade.

The problem is that iTunes doesn't start to play,BV7 or BS3000 doesn't show N.Music.

Can anyone se what I've done wrong?

    All help is allways appreciated!
    Thanks

    /Ola

All BS3000 are not the same. I have a BS3000 and it is the version that does not have N-Music capability. The good news is they can be upgraded. I understand it is not very expensive. I'm sure your dealer can help. Good luck.

If I recall correct the BS3000 with the small clamper is not ready for netmusic. Since the BV7 acts as a videomaster in your setup I believe it would not show the Netmusic. If you are running a PC with Beoplayer I believe you can set the beoport to become an audio master, with BM Link though that is not possible. The BS3000 is upgradeable though. Did you get the IR eye for the beoport? That should pick up the Beo 4 signals. If you have your Mac in the same room and connected to the BV7 with the intention of using Front Row you might be able to skip the BS3000 upgrade. If you check the mac forum on this site there is plenty of information about all this. Cheers JK

Hi, you must have your BS3000 upgraded to SW 2.12. After that you can use n.music and n.radio. When you have a Beo4 first edition you than use Phono and a.tape2 to activate n.radio and n.music.

    i All!

    Thanks for answers!

About the IR-eye: I have 2 pcs of IR-eye. The have no cabel attached som I don't know what type they are. How can I see the difference on the eyes?

Both mine has a print on inside on the circuit board that is "DPD 9405"
On has 6 (3x2) connectors and one has 5 (1x5) connecters.

Will any of these work with the beoport?

Hi, using the BS3000 with Beoport or Beo PC2 requires a higher software version. For the oldest at least SW 2.12. Ask your B&O retailer (he will need the Serial nr and type of your BS3000). After the SW update costs about 50 Euro, you will be able to use N.Music and N.Radio.

    Hi,

I'm in the nearly same situation. I have a Beosound 3000 SW 1.2 which gets upgraded tommorow by my dealer. I have to pay 100 Euros ... :-(

Can anyone explain me what I REALY can do with the BS3000 and Beoport?

I don't have an IR-Eye for the Beoport and I understood it the following way:

When the Beoport is connected via LINK to my upgraded BS3000 I can control the Beoport with my Beo4 through the BS3000.

    Is this correct?

And will my BS3000 show any Infos in its display after the upgrade with N.Music and N.Radio?

Thank you for your help guys ;-)

In answer to your questions, you are correct in that with no I.R. eye you can control Beoport through the BS3000. Although not from the buttons on the BS3000, the only ones that will do anything are the volume controls. All you will see in the display of the BS3000 is N.Music or N.radio depending on what is selected.

    Hi Craig,

thank you for your helpful answer! :)

So I can use my Beo 4 to zap around my iTunes/Front Row?

Does the Beosound 3200 show artist, album etc. in its display? Or does anybody know which systems shows what information?

Assuming you have a Mac + BM Link + BeoPort, yes, you can zap around iTunes with Beo4 (not sure about FrontRow).

As far as I know the Beosound 4 and Beocenter 2 show some info, just not sure what though.
