    Beocenter 2 help needed

When I turn on my Beocenter 2 to any source, the volume starts at the preset level of 45 and then immediately goes down to 00.  I can try to manually raise the volume but it returns to 00.  This started last night.  I powered off the Beocenter 2 overnight and reset but to no avail.  Thinking I had a bad Beo4, I used a different one after taking the original one to another room.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

This sounds very peculiar. Does the volume drop to 00 immediately, or does it reduce in volume as if you were holding the volume down button on your Beo4? I hope this isn't any problems with the aluminium touch surface.

The volume drops immediately.  I did try the touch surface and it worked the same way as the remote.  Thanks,

Are your speakers connected to the BC2? If so try unpluging them, sounds like some sort of protecion kicking in IMO.

For millions of years, mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen..

Wow!  You were correct.  It does seem to be the Beolab 2 speakers.  Is there special reset for these speakers or should I just unplug and try later?

Try turning the IR eye off - set it to option 0 and disconnnect any masterlink. See if the volume works now. If it still does it, I suspect a fault in the volume ring - was it knocked?

Thanks for everyone's help.  All is well now.  I unplugged everything overnight which apparently reset the speakers.  There have been heavy thunderstorms here in Chicago which must have caused a power problem.
