    Beolink 5000 - Play Next

Hi! I understand there is a possibility for programming my Beosystem 4500 so it plays different sources one after another. The problem is, I can't find it in the user's manual. Anyone got a clue? MUnsure

Hi, i could be mistaken, but i remember something about Play Next being available on f.e. Beosystem 6500,
not sure if the Beosystem 4500 also has it.

Re: Beolink 5000 - Play Next

Just noticed that the manual of Beolink 5000 mentions Play Next for Beosystem 4500, 6500 and 7000.

I'll copy the page and post it later.

Anybody know how this stuff works on MCP6500? The Beosystem 6500 manuals on site only talk about Beolink 7000 Indifferent ("Control" is another mystery button...)

    Regarding the CONTROL button;

this lets you control other components (f.e. Beocord) whilst another source (f.e. Beogram CD) is playing.
F.e. rewinding Beocord while playing a cd.

I've actually missed that function; thank you Smile

By pressing CONTROL you can for example rewind A.TAPE while listening to RADIO or CD without interruption. Stefan

My Beosystem 6500 manual mentions the MCP 6500.
    Unfortunately, it is in Dutch,
but i will translate it :

Choose source (except RADIO), and while the system is playing, press Play Next,
    choose the `next` source.

Play Next can be used 10 times in a row.

When the displays shows `No Input`, the sequence has reached maximum.

Switching to standby will delete the Play Next-list, however pressing Stop will pause the Play Next-list,
pressing Play to continue the Play Next-list.

The sources that can be added to the Play Next-list are : CD, PHONO, TAPE and TAPE 2.
One can choose a radio-preset-channel as the last source of the sequence,
but the system will not switch of after the sequence.

To check the sequence, press Play Next, the press STATUS repeatedly,
the chosen sources will be displayed one after another.

Makes perfect sense, thank you again Smile

The MCP would've been a great product if it had maybe 8 characters worth of alphanumeric display (and control for TV as well). However, I still use it a lot - even if mostly for volume control and as a desktop clock...

Agree, i hardly use my MCP 6500, i just leave it on the table, sometimes use it for volume control.
But mainly i treat it like my partner; just sit there, be quiet and be beautiful...

    Smile

Seriously, the MCP 6500 unfortunately lacks control of the video components,
compared to a Beolink 7000, one can tell it is from a different era.

Re: Beolink 5000 - Play Next

I'm afraid there is no option called Play Next in my programming menu. And my beolink 5000 user's guide doesn't mention it either. Strange, because my Beosystem 4500 user's guide explicitly states that Play Next is a function and refers to the Beolink 5000 user's guide. Thanks for answers anyway.

Re: Beolink 5000 - Play Next

I remember that there are 2 versions of Beolink 5000,

one has a CONTROL button, the other one has a CLOCK button.

My Beolink 5000 has the CLOCK button and when i use it with my BS 4500, there is no Play Next feature.
