Getting slightly embarrased now! but I am in need of more help!

I have bought a new lamp but I do not know which bulb is needed!! Photo as below:

Anyone know? the lamp is a Louis Poulsen Panthella, have sent them an email but no answer as yet.

That looks like an energy saving fluorescent type fitting. We use those at the surgery. The problem is that you need exactly the right one as the position of the two contacts varies from bulb to bulb. Doesn't it have a type on the base?

Thanks! I tried the site but cannot find anything matching thier codes on the internet...

    Found this site:

    http://www.lightbulbs-direct.com/variant_detail.asp?var=3308

This looks like it... as the holder looks pretty standard...

Ah! There speaks the voice of the young! Unfortunately the pin position varies so you can only put the correctly rated bulb in each fitting! We have three different sorts of bulb at the surgery. They all look identical to the untutored eye!  And you always pick up the wrong one when they need replacing and wonder why they won't fit!

Brings new meaning to the old joke that is changing a light bulb!!!!!! How hard can it be!!

Well, I am going to order one of each of the G24s!! They have the slots on the side which mirror the inside of the holder.. well i think anyway!!!

    Thanks again!

I would go to the local B&Q and have a look! Make a template of the lamp socket - you can have one tomorrow then!

    Re: More help please!

When Mobe first posted this thread I looked it up on the web. Got the same bulb as you Graeme, Do not think it is correct though. That will not fit the Bulb Holder in Mobe's picture. Not that I can see.

Then you must have to be careful with static elctric charges. (Perhaps you don´t need to cut the nails of the feet, it would be an advantage) Laughing

I take it from all this that Mobe won't be a very frequent contributer to the proposed new Techy forum WinkBig Smile
