    BEO1 Help required

Thanks to LifeStyle-AV I have a new Beo1 remote control.

However none of the buttons work with my BeoVision 1LS or Avant except, if I hold down the power button then everything goes into standby.

In the BeoVision 1 service menu "Remote Control" is set to Beo1 with SW? although I have been using a Beo4 in the past.

Do I have to do something to make it work?

I unplugged the masterlink from the Bv1 but still the remote did nothing.

Does anyone know about the Service Menu "Remote Control" section and why mine has ???? all over it.

Is the remote sending out a beam for anything other than stand by. You may be able to see the LED in the end lighting up with the naked eye. If not try looking at it with the camera on a mobile phone.

    Richard,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question.

The Beo1 was sold with some versions of the Beocentre 1 and Beovision 1

Your Beovision LS Type 865X was sold with a Beo4.

You can look at the "Remote Control" type in the Service Menu by:-

    • Press MENU to get yourself into the Beovision MENU
    • Press 0 0 GO which then takes you to the Service menu

You should see 4 items in the list namely:-

    • Monitor Information
    • TV-Tuner
    • Stand
    • Remote Control

Move the cursor down to "Remote Control" and it will almost certainly say Beo4

    Regards Keith....

So does this mean a Beo1 will not control all Beocoenter/Beovision 1's?

I see 2 lights for every button pressed. Thanks I like that trick, I wasn't sure what to expect when I read your post.

I think you are rapidly discovering that the Beo1's primary use is that of a paperweight! I can't understand why it isn't working as you seem to have done everything sensible!

    Marcus wins. Party!!!

With the Beo4, I change the BeoVision1 OPTION to 1.

The Beo1 now works in all its glory. Big Smile

However the Beo4 no longer works, which is a shame because I was hoping to be able to use both. I need to be able to press SAT/DVD/RADIO to access the linked sources.

So OPTION1 worked, where can I find more info on the different options? I have put the BV1 back to OPTION 6 for the Beo4 to work again for now.

What I really would like is, both Beo1 & Beo4 work at the same time.

I love this site, I knew someone would have the answer eventually.

Re: Tech help req:- Beovision 1 LS & Beo1

A bit off topic, but I really want to know why did they decide that Beo1 will only work with BV1/BC1? I understand you need a screen for the menus, but still, I think it would be perfect for simple commands ( like volume, next song, stop, play,... ) on a music system.

Anyone with any info on that one?
