Useful Hints and Tips for Beolink 1000 and Beo 4

Does anyone have a list of useful extra codes, hints and tips to make MCL equipment work using the Beolink and Beo 4 terminals?

I am looking to connect a pair of MCL2AV with MCL2Ps in the same room to drive surround sound and would like to know if I can control them separately with a remote and the right codes. Any other unearthed secret operations would be most welcome as well!

    Smile

I think we need a list at some time and when we have compiled this we will put it under FAQ. Good idea.

There was a list on the previous Beoworld.

A feature I like is keep pressing the BEO4 LIST button and the LCD will scroll the info.
When you release, and press LIST button briefly time and time again, the scrolling is in the opposit direction...
Very usefull if your LIST list is stacked with lots of items.

on the old forum, there was a "tipps and tricks" site, which I can not find back any more here on the new beoworld. I asked about it, but did get no answer. I think that such a page should be available on this site too

Hi Tom we are still "hopefull" of getting back into the old site so feel it's better to wait rather than try and reconstruct work already done. I agree though it was a very useful page which I could do with myself!

Something I came across with my Beolink 1000 mk3.

The clock works normally with the play button, push once for shorth time and push twice for it to stay in the upper right corner.

This is clear in the manual. However when using video use it's: sound or picture+ play once or twice depending if it should be permant in the upper right corner.

I have my JVC dvd player on AV2 and use Shift + Sat to engage it. It depends on what you have selected in the tv menu setup.

The sound/picture + play gives the same clock options as when video is selected.

The manual does not say anything about this at all.

    Yes, it may be different,

depends on which Beolink 1000 and which B&O product you want to control with it.

    On my MX7000 + Beolink 1000 Mk3 : SHIFT + SAT = DVD  (actually, it displays CDV)

I'm posting this with some frightening and hope it will only result in 1 post and not 12.

    I guess I have a Mk2

[SHIFT] [CD] display CDV on LX

[AV] [SHIFT] [CD] displays CDV on BS 9000 Mk2

By the way what does Mk stand for?

    Beovision LX5500, BeoCord V6000, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 3500, BeoLab 2000, BeoVox1, BeoCom 6000, Form1, LightControl 1

Mk stands for MARK which means version number.

So, a Mark I is the first version

Neither of these works for me Indifferent  I have a later MX6000 (type 7810, "IT" model, which came with a Beo4) and I haven't yet found a way to control the stand with a Beolink 1000 Mk.2. Any other possibilites? The stand works just fine with Beo4.

Re: Useful Hints and Tips for Beolink 1000 and Beo 4

Correct, i had the same with a MX7000 IT.

With Beolink 1000, i could only control the stand from within the on screen menu.

I think Peter is correct, we need a FAQ for these two remotes as I see a lot of these type of questions.

Please continue posting both your hints and tips and we will make an FAQ out of them.

    Regards Keith....

Re: Useful Hints and Tips for Beolink 1000 and Beo 4 - now extend to include 7000

I can't believe how quickly 18 months has passed since I started this thread.  I would like to find out also if anyone has found anything interesting on a Beolink 7000.  Are there any diverse functions available on one of those - for Avants, DVDs, later Beovisions etc etc.

    Hi All,

lately I have been more 'posting-active' but (unfortunately) only asking for information.

Hopefully my comment in this thread can be of some value: on B&O remotes the '0' (zero) makes you switch between two channels on the television. Let's say you watch a movie on channel 11 and sports on channel 24 you can easily switch/swop by pressing '0'

    BS9000, Beolab 3000, Beocenter 7002, RL60.2, beo4, BV10

Yes, the zero key function carries over to other devices also. Such as the tuner in my Beomaster. It will recall the last selected radio station exactly the same way the TV recalls channels.
