ML to MCL connection - what do I need?

I've tried to solve this by looking at the online manuals, but I've come to the conclusion I need to ask for help. I'm sure I saw a manual which covered this some time ago, but I can't find it.

I have an Avant VCR for the main room, and MX3500s for the slave (!!!) rooms. To connect them together, so the MXs can select sources via the Avant, do I need a "Beolink Converter" or an "ML/MCL Converter"?

Thank you in advance for your wisdom.

As far as I know, you need a type 1611 Beolink Converter for each MX. The 1611's should then be connected to the Avant with ML cable. You would also need to connect the MX's to the Avant with RF cable.

Anybody with a different idea, 'cos I have never actually done this?

    Regards Graham

Re: ML to MCL connection - what do I need?

Thank you, guys. A couple of little follow ups - 1. are there any cable-length issues? 2. is it better to site the Converters near the MXs, or the Avant? Or does it not matter? Mark

    Mark,

I would place the converter near to the MX. The Masterlink can have cable lengths up to around 150 metres without problems

Hide the converters first. They are easy to wallmount behind a couch or something, just two screws. Then choose cable length.
