Re: BV9+Playstation3+Beo5 = works perfect
By the way, I've been wondering... has any one noticed the similarities between the design of the PS3 (I have one too) and some B&O equipment? It's got a bit of Beocentre 2200 about it + Beolab 4000's. Wonder whether they took inspiration from these at all?

Re: BV9+Playstation3+Beo5 = works perfect
chrisped: This looks very cool. Would this work in conjunction with the IR blaster setup with a BeoSystem 3? So I could complete hide the ps3 away somewhere?? (except for changing dvds)
Yes, I have my PS3 on the wall behind my BV9

Re: BV9+Playstation3+Beo5 = works perfect
chrisped: Would it have to be a Beo5 or could a Beo4 do a similar job since it will be using the IR blaster I guess I could choose Sony DVD player from the list?
Both remote works ofcourse ;-) But Beo5 is better to use in my opinion....

Re: BV9+Playstation3+Beo5 = works perfect
Because I am not a gamer I have had no interest in the PS3. However now I am looking for a blu-ray player that has flexible outputs so that I can continue to use scart connection to my non-HD BV6-26. This would enable me to upgrade my DVD1 without forcing me to change the TV now. This is even better if you can control the darned thing with a beo4. Because I don't know this product at all can anyone explain the on/off switch thingy. You all, obviously, understand what is going on but I don't. Is the devise being talked about from schwartz an infra red on-off? which will work with an stb? Sorry for my ignorance but I have never owned a gaming machine.

I bought PS3 only to use it as BD player, but ofcourse you can use it with music, photos etc The Schmartz gadget is a ir receiver same as eg Nyko, BUT he has made it so you can use on/off PS3 use Bluetooth to pilot the consol, so if you want to use a IR remote you must have this If I where you I should stick with DVD1 until you buy a full HD

Another interesting possibility can be OneRemote.

Re: BV9+Playstation3+Beo5 = works perfect
The problem with waiting for the HD TV before you get the HD player is that you have to buy both at the same time. Getting one at a time enables you to get what you want which may be constrained with a double purchase. Does the one remote allow the same sort of access as the stb? In other words will it allow link room access? If I wanted the PS 3 and bought the one remote when its available in March would I need anything else or will that do the job? The one remote is more expensive but if it does the job then it looks tidier and the PS 3 does have a BL 4000 look to it.

If you buy IR from Schmartz you shall not use PS3 in STBlist. It will only work with Nyko remote You shall choose a Sony DVD player. I shall look wich one I have in my list when I come home from work Your dealer can update your BV7 with ir generator
