Fair assessment.
I have the BV7-40HD and am happy with it. HD is not integrated, effectively you connect a single DVI cable direct to the panel. Only settings from that point from the raw signal are contrast, colour and brightness. I did not understand this until the BS3 was released. Sound comes through the BV7. There is only 1 DVI connection which is frustrating.
The panel is not as bright and colourful at other HD televisions. The 720/x presentation is not as detailed when compared to a 40inch 1080/x panel with a Strong 5400 STB connected and a high definition signal 1080/x signal is present.
My honest opinion is that the current HD panel would perform a whole lot better if a BS3 and its visual processing was supporting it. I suppose the new direction supports some of that theory. We could have an interesting test if someone has a BS3 and BV7-40 and the other equipment hanging around. I wonder how the BV7-40 panel would perform...
