    Airport Express and Avant

    Hello,

I can push music from iTunes to my Airport Express and listen through my BS4000 using Aux input.

How do I then listen through my Avant?  I can listen through any linked speakers in the house, but not the Avant.

I have the BS4000 and Avant in close proximity.

    Thanks for any assistance.

I know both Peter and Soundproof are a bit clever** when it comes to Apple - and we do have plenty of other Apple-Genius's on here.. (not sure what the plural of genius is.. sorry!)

Anyone have any ideas on this?

    Re: Airport Express and Avant

I should add that I can listen to Radio and CD through the Avant, which I do during lengthy commercial breaks.

I do not how to select Aux from the BeoSound 4000 on the Avant. Is there a way to select the current source, as I would from linked speakers?

    Thanks.

I'm assuming from what you've said that the Avant and BS4000 aren't actually linked together?

If not, I recommend you do this, and then you can use the Avant's built in speakers.

Don't you mean BeoSound 4, and not 4000? Going by how I option programmed my BV8/Beosys6500, the TV is running things.

To get AUX through the Beo4, you go into the list menu. I had to add ATAPE2, I believe. (At the office now). Hunt around, relative to the connector you use - and get the options right on the two?

Not as knowledgeable about this as others here, but I think it's your BeoSound 4000 that has confused things.

Lagom may be correct in saying BeoSound 4000, which I believe was another name for the BeoSound Overture.

Lagom, do you have a BeoSound with two sliding doors and a CD clamper in the middle + tape deck, or a BeoSound with a single large sliding door which moves up to reveal a CD bay and SD card slot?

Yes, I have the US version, BeoSound 4000 with the tape deck and sliding doors that also houses the CD clamper.

I do not know the correct function/buttons to press on the Beo4 to pull up the Aux selection from the BeoSound 4000 through my Avant.  (I know there must be a method, as I can on all my other linked products in the home.)

I have a BS4 with an Airport Express, connected to my Avant. I press A.AUX in the Beo4 list to listen to iTunes.

    Re: Airport Express and Avant

I got it to work today, but this time I did something different.

I did not have the Aux output selected on the stereo.

Aimed at the TV, I pressed AV, A.AUX and the stereo snapped on and music came from both BeoSound 4000 and Avant.  (They aren't in the same room, but I live in a warehouse and the remote is powerful enough to operate both.)

Thanks for all of your assistance.  Mardi Gras is over so I had time to attend to these types of needs. :o)
