Beovision 8 is on the official NA website

    http://www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=430

It doesn't have an integrated tuner which I think is awesome -> that means they can bring Beocenter 6 and BV7 32" as well.

While I like both TVs much more on first impression, I will definitely take a look at the BV8 in the next few weeks.

    Cheers

The BV-8 has already reached the B&O stores in the US, you should be able to see one with no trouble if you're nearby.  Be fore you buy, make certain to go over the connections available, and be sure that your dealer has the SCART adaptors on-hand, or at least on the way.

I am not sure how to connect my projector which I definitly would want to keep.

I don't think it has a video out ..... not sure if that ML module adds that via scart, I think I read somewhere it is 2 way whatever that means.

I don't need surround or multiple HDMI, I just want to be able to watch video through front row from my mac and maybe DVD through a BC2.

Whoever buys one here in the US first, please post your experience. I am just glad that they came up with the no Tuner solution which should allow them to bring the rest of the TV line as well. Not sure why the BV7 32" upgrade to BS3 takes them so long, that would probably be more suitable for me.

From what you're saying with regard to the projector, you'll need to get something in the BS-3 family.  BV-8 has no video out at all, and really isn't intended for theatre use.

Other than that, the picture is quite good, and I think the sound is really nice.  For its intended purpose it is a great piece.

    Russ,

Just to confirm once again, does the BV8 have a sleep timer? I mean one that will turn the TV off as any regular bedroom TV (15-30-45-etc). I don't mean a built in clock function as in other B&) equipment.

Seems a rational feature for a bedroom set.

One more question: Is ML standard or extra here in USA?

No Sleep timer that I can find.

ML module is indeed extra, as is the Beo4/5.

     $3755.00

ML Option looks to be $350.00

Walked by a dealer today. I think price he said is 3950 plus around 400 for the module.

It doesn't seem to have a video out, which is confusing to me as the tech spec says scart in/out and how would one connect a HDR if the video signal is not passed out via scart? Not sure though if that would be usable or not.

Does anybody know if it can control the Apple TV, i.e. with fast scrolling? In the menu I saw only the Ipod remote. On the german forum somebody mentioned that one needs PUC Apple STB remote V01 from August 2007? Is this available in US? I would be all set If I can get the fast scrolling in Frontrow or Apple TV.

I have to say it looks much better in real live then on picture. It matches very nicely with my Lab 3s. Stopped by afterwards at a best buy and looked at Sony but that ain't going to happen.

    Cheers
