    MX3500 Link Problem

Don't know if anyone can help with this - I have an MX3500 in my bedroom and an Avant in the living room - I cannot get any sound on my MX when I press Sat or Vtape - pictures come up from the avant but no sound - in the kitchen there's a non b&o TV with a beolink active and the sound comes out of the speakers and also the TV in the kitchen. When tuning I get SYS:G on the mx in the corner - is this correct?, if not does anyone know how to change it to what it should be?

    Anyhelp much appreciated.

    Re: MX3500 Link Problem

The reason that you are not getting audio through the MX3500 is that you have selected the wrong version of PAL in the tuning menu.  I seem to recall that there are other options available. Pal I and Pal BG.

It is a while since I last tuned one in and I can't remember which one it should be, but if you try changing it to one or the other one will definitely work.  Sorry I can't be specific but a bit of trial and error should get the job done.

     Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply - does anyone else know how I would change the SYSTEM setting to PAL I or BG? - can't seem to find it in the manual.

I have looked up which version of PAL you need and it is PAL I.

If you select Sat then unplug the data cable from the back of the MX3500 and go into the tuning menu, from there you can select which PAL you want to use.  You have to unplug the data cable so that you don't start tuning the TV in the main room.  Remember to plug it back in when you have finished.

I have been trying to hunt down an instruction manual but without success.  Perhaps someone else can help you further.
