tried aux socket on mx4002. Now ML doesn´t work

    Hi!

I tried the aux socket on my mx 4002 connected to a Bm7000 and mx6000 through a converter. I remowed the converter and connected the aux cable directly. After this my V8000 doesn´t respond to any commands from the bedroom when I connected the converter again. The tv works in the same way as when connected to aux. How can I reset this back to normal??

    Regards

Disconnect everything from the mains. Re-connect as you want it. Then connect to power again.

    Regards Graham

    Hi!

Doesn´t work unfortunately. There was a small plastic cover over the aux socket. Is it important. I have lost it. But it was just a small piece of plastic

Perhaps there is a setting in the service menu to set the MX to ML or AUX?

Have you depowered the Beolink converter? It will automatically configure when powered up. There is no option in the MX service menu to select between AAL and ML.

Yes! I depowered everything including converter. I`m acutally beginning to suspect my mx 6000. It doesn´t respond to any command from MCL or ML. I have MCL and speakerkit in kitchen and it doesn´t respond to commands from there either. When I connected the 4002 to aux I actually had two tv sets connected the same way at the same time to beomaster 7000. I used a y-cable. Can this have messed things up in mx 6000. At the same time I had a mx 5000 in another linkroom connected through a proper mcl video unit. Everything has worked fine until now.

Do I have to do some option programming again. If yes, update me on the options:

Room 1. Bm 7000 + MX6000. I like to have them in option 1 because of speaker config. Penta to mx and vox 5000 to Bm 7000

Kitchen. MCL speakerkit + cx 50

Bedroom1: Mx 5000 to videokit (mcl)

Bedroom2: MX 4002 to converter to y-cable and datalink in Room 1

    regards

    Hi

I have now tried almost everything, found all options and reprogrammed but mx 6000 doesn´t respond from linkrooms. I have tried disconnecting all other equipment and adding one by one but nothing.... Maybe the mx 6000 doesn´t know it´s a videomaster anymore?

    regards

One more thing: Everything else works fine in all rooms. If I start MX6000 directly in localroom I can move sound to linkrooms but I cannot change channels etc from linkrooms. So I´m quite sure the MX 6000 doesn´t know it´s a master anymore???

    regards

Re: tried aux socket on mx4002. Now ML doesn´t work

Could be that the MX6000 has a bad solder connection on the Aux DIN socket data pin, or a broken wire in it's Audio Aux cable. That would cause the lack of response from the link rooms.

    Ok!

So, even if it responds to commands from bm7000, for example AV CD it still can mess up link room commands?

    I´ll have to check

I tried to change cable, nothing.

One more queston: can i change mx 6000 with mx 5000 as master? Or even use mx 4002 as master?

    regards

I´ll answer myself. Changed mx 6000 for 5000. Worked fine from kitchen. Must be a faulty 6000 then

The MX4002 can't be a Video Master, unless you remove the ML module and change the software, then it will become a MX4000.
