Sharp eyes! Laughing I agree; I think they look like Beolab 3s on desk stands. These are wonderful computer speakers - I use a pair with my PowerMac.

I read in a few articles that the MacBook Pro might be upgraded with LED backlights on the 15 and 17-inch models and there is the possibility of a BluRay R-W drive being added, albeit at only 2X speed.

There already is an LED backlight in the 15" model [;)

If they do add BluRay R-W, then I'd have to see about getting one fitted in my current MBP.

    Hi there,

for those of you using these wonderful speakers as computer speakers, how did you connect them, how do you turn them on/off, and how do you select volume? Thank you

Optical minijack toslink to regular toslink cable from Mac to separate Digital-to-Analog-Converter (DAC).

DACs can be had from GBP100 and up. I have a Grace M902, but a Lavry DA10 or Benchmark DAC USB will do the job excellently, and give you headphone amp's to boot.

Volume is controlled with the DAC (full volume output from the Mac to the DAC).

When I switch off the DAC, the speakers' indicator lights go red shortly afterwards.
