    Video Play Timer

We have a BV 7-55 and a a Bv 10-40 connected by Masterlink along with a Beosound 3000 and Beoport/iMac. The timer function in the 7-55 works perfectly to turn the TV on. Should I be able to activate the timer in the 10 as well and have it turn on in response to the timer in the 7? Thanks!

    Hello Razlaw,

although the BV10-40 has no own timer, it can response to the timer in your BV7-55:

Press MENU on Beo4 (twice if you have the HD-Module)

Press WIEDERGABE-TIMER (in german, in english it should be PLAY-TIMER)

    Change from NO to YES

    Hope it works!

    Regards

    Re: Video Play Timer

Thanks! I thought it should work. I will try again when I get home as I am traveling at present. My dealer said it would not work as the TVs are connected only by Masterlink, not by a video connection? We are in the USA if that makes any difference. I did look at the FAQs on the B and O web page. If I am understanding correctly what they say, the TV has a power saving mode. If the power saving mode is activated the timer function will not work so perhaps I need to deactivate the power saving mode and try the timer again.

    Re: Video Play Timer

The Play timer should work on your link TV with audio sources like RADIO, CD, N.MUSIC....as audio from audio sources will be distributed via Masterlink. The link TV should be set to V.OPTION 6.

So are you saying I can not have the 10 turn on via the 7's timer? No video, just audio?

    Re: Video Play Timer

In Europe audio from video sources will be sent via video connection (coax). As far as I know there is no video link distribution in US models....(?)

But you can check it out.

    Re: Video Play Timer

If the BV10 and BV7 are connected by Masterlink and antenna cable, the programmed timer on BV7 should work on BV10 at all sources (audio and video). If they are only connected by Masterlink, only audio sources should work, probably you can hear only audio but cannot see a picture if you have programmed a video timer.

    Re: Video Play Timer

As mentioned here there is no video distribution. But I am not trying to distribute video. I just want the timer to turn the 10 on and the 10 will produce it's own video and audio. The user manual for the 10 only makes reference to to having the 10 connected to some source with a timer, it does not limit it to an audio source?

    Re: Video Play Timer

You set the timers in the mainroom in your videomaster: source, program/channel, date (days), start, stop...In your linkrooms you just set the timer, programmed in your main Beovision, to ON or OFF. This will activate your linksystem from standby and play the source you have selected for the timer in the mainroom. It is not possible to select a linkroom source for the timer. Audio from video sources are distributed via coax cable (antenna), so if you don`t have this video connection, there will be no sound on your link TV, only from audio sources, as audio from audio sources are distributed via Masterlink, which in your setup is connected. This is the way it works with european models, I`m not quite sure with US version. But as said, check it out.

    Hope this helps

Thanks! I have been traveling so have not had another chance to try it. Hope to be home early enough today to try it.

    Re: Video Play Timer

I have been able now to get the timer in the BV7 to turn the BV10 on via Masterlink. I program the satellite receiver connected to the BV10 to also turn itself on and select a channel at the same time. I was able to get this to work by setting the BV10 to option 2 and the BV7 to option 1, or by reversing the two options between the TVs.  There are couple of issues with N. Music and N. Radio via a Beosound 5 with these options.

    Re: Video Play Timer

The BeoSystem 3 in the U.S. has been updated to include videolink. My BS3 has a connection for videolink and options for it in the menu setup. However, I haven't explored this since all of my video sources now are HD.

I have not explored it either for the same reason.
