I was hoping that some kind person could help me out... I love my new BV7 but my dealer couldn't get my old Sony RDR-HXD710 DVD/HDD recorder to work with any of the existing PUC libraries and therefore the machine is sitting rather ideal at the moment. I did some research and I think that the Beo5 could be used to control the Sony directly.

After doing some digging I managed to find a Philips Pronto command set which gives me the HEX? codes for the device (I have no idea if they work because I dont own a Pronto) but I know that in the past Keith has been able to create a Beo5 XML file from the Pronto codes.

The codes to be converted are below (I did notice that the numeric keys seem to have a different format to then, not sure if this is a problem with the file I found on the internet).

I really hope someone can help..... After the XML file has been created, is this something that my dealer is likely to want to add to the Beo5 because I dont have either the software or the XML files created by the dealer.

I have converted the Pronto codes into a fully functional XML file for DIRECT control with the hardkeys pre-assigned.

As you said the digits are different and decode to a carrier frequency of 36 Khz using the Philips RC6 protocol. I have included them just in case this product uses mixed protocols which actually seems fairly unlikely.

Also, the UP command decoded to having a carrier frequency of 46 Khz which I think means it was not captured correctly.

You can download the ZIP file containing the XML file HERE.

If you provide your dealer with the ZIP file and he unzip's it on the PC with the Configuration tool installed and extracts it to C:\ then the XML file will automatically be added to the correct directory within the Tool.

As I have pre-assigned the hard keys and digits all the dealer has to do is "Drag-N-Drop" into your configuration and download to your Beo5.
