    How to merge 2 videofiles?

    Hi,

I am having an AppleTV on my BV and want to move my DVDs to the Apple TV. I am using Handbrake for the ripping process. Now I am facing a problem with some DVDs that are having one film in more than one .VOB containers on the DVD. Handbrake always just can do one container once.

How can I merge two films (already made to .M4V file format) into one film? Is there a good alternative to Handbrake?

    Thanks.

    Heribert

    hi Phil,

iMovie does not recognize the files (m4v as per Handbrake preset for ATV) and I just have quicktime player. Any other ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi

I use mac the ripper, it seems faster.

Mac sure perian is installed as it adds codecs to the QT player or try vlc player which plays back just about anything (and also transcodes.)

to stitch files , try http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html

should do vob files as well...

QuickTime 7 Pro will do it, just go Edit -> select all on the first video, Edit -> Copy.

New File, Edit -> Paste, then do the same with the second video, pasting at the end of the first video.

You can re-encode in a different format, or sometimes you can select pass-through depending on your video codecs (the ideal solution, no re-encoding is needed).

    Cheers,

    Alex
