    software issues on 7-40 mk4

I had a 7-40 mk2 and upgraded to a 7-40 mk4. After this was done I noticed a sound delay on sky when both my 7-40 and my bv6-26 were on.

B&O enginner said they knew about the problem and software was being worked on to solve it.

He came back and updated my tv to software 8.12, which fixed the sound delay fault but after a few days I would turn my 7-40 on and have no sound would come through any of the speakers, they wouldnt even switch on!

Anyway another call to B&O and got told they hadn't heard about the problem but would look into it and after a day or so he came back saying the solution for now was to downgrade the software back to 8.02 until a solution was found.

So a week ago the engineer phoned to say B&O had released new software solving the speaker issue and would pop round to upgrade it to 9.01 which he has done. but as soon as he tested both tv's the sound delay was there again!

So my question is has anyone else had/got the same issue and is there anyway around it apart from software updates.

    regards

    Chris

Re: software issues on 7-40 mk4

AST has to be enabled to adjust ML-delay.

    menue > options > sound > AST ON/OFF

more about AST in thread: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/33197/271117.aspx#271117

PS: there can't be a "one fits all" rule for delaying a signal in ML network
a LCD TVs needs delay to be lip-sync, a BLb 3500 does not.
If the delay is perfect between your main TV and your Link TV there will be an echo from your BLB 3500

    To be honest, I don't know ...

I have a Mk5 (SW 8.12) no AST - just Dolby, working perfectly
and I'm using ML only to distribute audio.

But  there are some hardware differences between Mk4 and 5
and there are a lot of settings that possibly interact differently
so findings can't be transferred directly ...

Re: software issues on 7-40 mk4

Hi i came on here to post this also.

i have now collected my MK4 and its got SW 9.01

the ast option is not there under sound and the tv has the 2.5 dst thing board according to the hidden menu's

    ML delay is grayed out

edit: If the ML is grayed out and you have DSM module 2.0 or higher AST needs to be in the menu but does not have to be switched on just present.

If AST does not appear then the DSM FEP and DSM DSP software are to old

This is seperate from the H8 Software we normally talk about.

My TV has 9.01 but the DSM module sw is 4.23a and 4.19 which is to old for AST to be shown.
