    Running SD or HD ?

I prefer the image on an 8-40 with HD to be honest!

    what about the BV10

where does it sit in the HD rankings ?

(saw the BV7-55 last week (again) running Avatar and it looked even more stunning than before!)

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

BV10 and BV8 have exactly the same electronic circuitry. What changes is the LCD panel : CCFL backlight for BV8 versus LED Edge Backlight for BV10. Sharp versus Samsung. Panel only vs panel and (optional antireflective) glass. It's a matter of taste. I tend to prefer the image of the BV10... Unless there's clouding issues!

    Re: BV7-40 MkII vs BV8-40

I've always been a 'plasma man' and felt the image was more natural on a Plasma Panel.

However, the 7-55, BV8 and now the BV10 (of which i have the 46" version at home) have well and truly caught up with Plasma and the results are superb.  A very natural, crisp, clear image as opposed to the 'cartoon' colour reproduction of the earlier larger LCD's.  I nearly cried when i replaced my BV5 with a Mk1 7-40 then tried to watch a football match.  I should have waited to see one, but i ordered the TV before release so i could be one of the first to get one. Big mistake..

Out of the three, i personally think the best image i've seen is on the BV10, which ousted my beloved BV9 away from my lounge!   Special mention to BV7-40 Mk3 onwards though too, which are pretty impressive with Blu-Ray input.

Only my own observations.. everyone's eyes are different, so it's always best to amble down to your dealer and see them for real.

Don't forget the sound, too. Half the reason for getting the TV. I use my BV7-40 + BL7.4 + BL9s quite a lot. Recently I had to move over to watching the BV8. I only realised how good the BV7 performed when I moved back and watched a couple of movies. The BV8 is ok - and you get used to the sound - but the BV7 is far superior.

I'd probably avoid the 7-40 MKII. The picture wasn't great. Surely you can get a cheap MKIII now the MKV is out?
