    Beocenter 9000-Beogram 9000

I recently set up my Beocenter 9000 with the Beogram 9000 (turntable).  In the past I put the DIN plug from the Beogram 9000 into the Beocenter 9000 and it communicated with a push of the play button on the turntable.  For some reason, the DIN plug is not communicating and I have to start the PHONO on the Beocenter and push the play button on the turntable separately.  Any thoughts on how I can check the DIN plug is working correctly.Mark GumbinerDenver Colorado

Check that all 7 pins are in the DIN plug. The bottom 2 unscrew and are sometimes removed to allow use with other equipment. That would be the simplest and cheapest problem!

Could be broken connection within the plug. Can you dismantle it and check the solders?

Other than communication, is the sound level from the deck OK? You could be plugged into AUX or TAPE2 instead of PHONO!

    Regards Graham

    Beat me to it Graham.

If it worked before then this is the most likely explaination. It's a few years since I sold my Beocenter and if memory serves me correctly the phono input socket access is a bit tight on these and tend to put stress on the plug.

Chris you are correct about access to the Phono connection. On my BC9000 I never used to close the small flap that covers the connections. If you did it pushed the connections to the side slightly.
