Re: Beolink PC Office and Windows XP

    hi,

Should be no problem I have 2 PC Office units (now called Beoport) working and both are on XP machines.

Make sure you have downloaded the latest Beoport software from the B&O website and go through the installation procedure.

A tip would be to make sure you do not make the USB connection until you are told to.

If you need anymore help then post a reply or send me a PM.

    Best regards

    Richard

    Hi Richard

I don't have the USB version, but the old RS232.

Struer told me, that it can't work under XP.

    Regards

    Hi Frank,

both my units are USB, Your's must be an early unit, the only thing I can think of to try would be to connect it to your PC using a serial (rs232) to USB adapter and just hope it works.

It may not work but at least the adapter only costs a few pounds / Euros

    Regards

    Richard

    Hello Frank,

    any progress on your efforts?
I am thinking of buying a unit (BeoLink PC Office) if it will work with XP.
I like the possibility to hear music from the main room (Active Kit) without having to switch on the PC Smile

This is a very old device and is no longer supported. I would be interested to hear if it does work with XP simply so we can update the site information.

I tried to install the PC Office on Windows XP. But before the installation begins there is a check if all conditions are fulfilled. In compatibility mode the operating system is accepted but it hangs in the check of the serial ports. It says that a special file is missing. I don't know now the exact file name. It is a VXD file. But the file is available in the installation directory. I had no success to get over this barrier.
