Beosystem 6500 in white - No sound - (-: Error found and works again

I have a Beosystem 6500 in white, from Beogram record deck, no sound, I raised to max volume but the speakers are just very little noise. Could it be that the RIAA the power amplifier is faulty sitting in 6500?

    Grateful for the help

    best regards

If you get sound from other sources then I would guess you are right - either that or the cartridge is goosed on both channels.

Thank you for your reply Chris, I'll try tomorrow with another mmc4 from a Beogram 5500 if the 6500 works so you're right. I tell you more tomorrow.

    Regards Jan

It sounds like the RIAA has been disconnected or even removed for the Beogram. Do you have another Beomaster such as a BM5500 to try the Beogram 6500 with? This should tell you if the problem lies with the Beogram or not. If it plays normally then the RIAA has been disconnected, if you get distorted noise then the RIAA is still connected and there is a problem with the phono input of your Beomaster 6500.

Hi Chris, sometimes it's a small error and we believe that there is a large
error and begin troubleshooting the wrong place. Now I have found the error
cable had Losne look at the attached picture, after I soldered everything
The player worked without any problems.
Today I had another happy day,
I received a Beogram 9500 with a MMC1 in very good condition, Beocenter 9500 and
a couple Beovox 7000 in white, I think it is very rare in white.

Re: Beosystem 6500 in white - No sound

    Happy days Jan Big Smile

I really should have thought about the DIN plug being a problem as it is quite common for the plugs on Beograms failing due to the tight angle in which they fit into the Beomasters - Doh! In my own defence though, the fact that you got any sond at all threw me slightly away from this.

Glad everything is now OK and well done on your latest aquisitions, some really nice items.
