optimization of sound quality of beosound 3

    Dear all,

I feel the sound quality of beosound 3 in mp3 area is not satisfactory. I have tried to use 224 highest VBR or even mp3 320kbps, both encoded by itunes. But I feel the sound quality is not that outstanding.

Is there anyway to improve the sound quality further? e.g. encoded by beoplayer or use wma??

    thank you all of you

What you are hearing are the normal limitations of a mono loudspeaker in a unit that is intended for background listening. Increasing the bitrate won't improve things.
To my ears, the BeoSound 3 has a good sound, for those occasions where I want to have something playing in the background. I use it for audio books, for which it is absolutely perfect.

You may consider the surface it is standing on - a wood cabinet will resonate, adding depth perception to the sound. Don't aim it at glass surfaces or other hard surfaces - and that's it.

Also remember that the speaker is toward the bottom of the unit so keep that area clear from clutter.
