Beosound 5: Repeat Track / Album not possible?

    Hi,

I visited my dealer to see and test the Beosound 5 in flesh. We (the dealer and me) didn't find an option to simply repeat the current album or the current track. Isn't this possible?

    Thank you.

Suggest programming the Beo4/Beo5 for both repeat and random.

but does Beosound 5 understand this command? It's a little bit lame if the function is not integrated; I think this is basic functionality.

Re: Beosound 5: Repeat Track / Album not possible?

Another function seemingly wayward on the Beosound 5 is "TIMER". I haven't seen any mention of it, and it's a function i would use; say in a bedroom as a link room, you could use timer as a wake up alarm.

Does anyone have any idea if this has definitely been left out of BS5/BM5?

    Robert.

You can configure the BM1/5 to play single/all groups. If it`s an album, the album will be repeated. This can be done in normal or random mode.

You can program N.MUSIC and N.RADIO timers - also wake up timers - at your videomaster. This will also work with BM1/5.

Stefan, I've downloaded the BM5 user manual, but can't seem to find mention of timers in it...

If you have a TV that is where you program the timers.

    Sorry, I don`t have BV8. I had/have AV9000, MX, BV6, BC6, BV7 and on all these Beovisions you can program timers.

I only know about the timer functionality on my Beosound 3000 but there's no N.Music availabe as source for timer!?

No big problem, but the missing repeat function IS an issue for me ... Hope there's a solution for this.

As mentioned before, there is no missing timer function. Only sources found on the masterlink will be displayed in the timer menu.

??? I just tested N.MUSIC timer with BS5 and it works - in all link rooms. I had also N.MUSIC - N.RADIO sources on my BV7 with BM1.

BV7 is a -40 MK III, SW 5.02. Hope this helps.

Yes, Stefan, this helps, thank you!

Do you know if the BS 5 will show up as a timer source on the Beosound 3000 for example after connecting the two via Masterlink?
    Would be nice to know!

Does the BS5 start with the last track it played before it was switched off?

I don`t know - I have no BS 3000 and my BS 9000s timer is "TV controled", so it works via BV7. But you can set up the BS5 as "no audiomaster", means only N.MUSIC/N.RADIO source with masterlink, so if BS 3000 can handle timer function for video sources via masterlinkthis should be possible. The BS 3000 must be N.MUSIC compatible.

....and yes, BS5 starts with the last track played. Or with the last N.RADIO station......

i remember now why it will be

the beomedia is not an audio master

to use it in a link system you had to have a MK3 9000 or a 3000 IIRC.

I don`t really know. Do you have all other sources you own in your timer menu? Afaik you can not add source to the timer menu manually. Maybe a masterlink or sw problem? Do you have the latest BM1 with the latest sw? Or disconnect your videomaster from the mains for a minute. This solved a lot of link problems in my house.

    Thank you, Stefan.

I've just checked the timer menu from my BS3000 eh voilá: N.Music and N.Radio is available as a source - so it should be possible to use the BS5 for wake up!?

Re: Beosound 5: Repeat Track / Album not possible?

BV8 doesnt have a timer, therefore setting up a timer with a BS5/BM5 would be impossible for me it seems unless i had another audio master, which I don't. The only option would be if the new BeoTime alarm clock can be set to timer on the BS5 in the Bedroom, so the sound comes through the BL3500 in the bedroom. Although I'm not sure if that sort of control will be present with the equipment i have...

<BV8-32 in living room, Future audio system; BS5 or BS9000, BL3500 in bedroom.>

    Robert.

Then you could use the upcoming "Beotime" accessoire (clock with timer functionality) from B&O ;-)
