    Who knows what this is?

Once you have worked it out ... I am open to offers in the region of £100.

p.s. the bits that should be mounted on the back have been removed.

Re: Who knows what this is?

    Hi Neil.
Would I be right in thinking this is a dealers display item?
Are we looking at the back, or the front?

Re: Who knows what this is?

As you say it's a dealer item, I would say a remote mains switch. So only one piece of kit is powered up. Stops all the items turning on at the same time. Probably before dealers had the range reducers for the remotes.

They look like powerlink sockets ... but they are not ... some strange 4 wire interface.

Is that the DeHaviland Transmogrifier? If it's a Mark IV or later it can actually use a pair of Pentas to summon a poltergeist!

Re: Who knows what this is?

Have you managed to operate it Neil.
If not, try plugging it in, plugging a device in the left 3 pin socket, then Shift, Phono, 1   or Shift, phono, 2
If you have operated it, could you tell us what command you used please?

4 pin din, like an MX stand ... but not for an MX stand.

As I have disassembled part of it ... I do not wish to plug it in until i have made it safe.

I get the feeling that Andy knows exactly what it is!

Re: Who knows what this is?

Well I know the speaker switch thingy that Andy has uses Shift, Phono then 1 - 12 to select between up to 12 pairs of speakers. Can't think what else uses 4 pin DIN sockets. Are there any connections on the other side?

Re: Who knows what this is?

The link module shows this to be about 15 years old - it looks lke one 4 pin and one powerlink socket to control power  via a Beolink -  I am guessing for a TV, remote stand and video from an ex display......

Excellent find and worth £100 to some - 100 pence to others!

Yes, my guess is that it is from this era ... it is in fact an early home cinema control unit ... curtains, projector, screen, lights control etc.

On the back there were 3 (yes three) LC2s mounted ... these have been removed ;)

    So ... any takers?

Its a flux capacitor that gives out 21.1 gigawatt of power. An early B & O time device?

Have you managed to make it control anything - using a BL1000 I would guess from that era?  Are there any guidance notes?
