    B&O in goud...

Bang & Olufsen introduces golden coloured products as the perfect complement for even the most luxurious surroundings and interior designs.

Bang & Olufsen uses a wider range of materials than most other companies in the industry. Only real materials such as aluminium, glass, rubber and wood are used, however, and all materials are carefully selected for their quality and ability to fit naturally into any home environment.

Yet, for many years, aluminium has played a more important role than any other in defining Bang & Olufsen products. The company’s competences within aluminium surface treatment are unique due to its highly advanced skills within processes such as diamond cutting and anodizing.

At Bang & Olufsen, all aluminium surfaces are anodized; anodizing being a surface treatment that creates a durable protection layer, making the surface of the aluminium both robust and scratch-resistant like porcelain glaze.

In connection with the anodizing processes, Bang & Olufsen has invented BeoSpray, which is a highly advanced dyeing process which makes it possible to dye aluminium in more than 250 colour nuances.

This is an important tool to the freelance designers with whom Bang & Olufsen is constantly working to develop new product concepts and also new colour schemes for its current product range. Bang & Olufsen never uses standard colours as all colours used by Bang & Olufsen are specially made according to the designers’ specifications.

It was also these skills within aluminium finishing that made it possible for Bang & Olufsen designers to develop the very exclusive golden hue which will now be added to the existing colour range.

However, to preserve the exclusivity of the golden colour, only selected products - including some of Bang & Olufsen’s most iconic video and audio products as well as a range of complementary loudspeakers - can be ordered as golden variants, and there will be a premium price for the golden colour which will be made to order only.

    In grand style
The golden coloured product range will be aimed primarily at high-end customers, including business-to-business clients within the development and hospitality industries. In fact, this is also where the idea for the golden coloured range of products came from in the first place, as the golden colour was specifically requested by the exclusive boutique hotel Villa Rothschild in Königstein, Germany.

Built from 1888 to 1894 for the financier Wilhelm Carl von Rothschild, Villa Rothschild was recently awarded the coveted five-star superior status due in no small part to points earned for the bespoke golden coloured Bang & Olufsen products installed in the guest rooms as well as in the common and recreational areas.

Embedded in a ten hectare park, the hotel promises strategic tranquillity only a few minutes away from the German metropolis of Frankfurt, and with a breathtaking view of the River Main.

Often referred to as the birthplace of the Federal Republic, Villa Rothschild has played a prominent role in European history, and has now been restored to past glory by its present owner, who has respectfully transformed the hotel from a private family residence into a luxurious boutique hotel.

“I chose Bang & Olufsen for the AV-installation at the completely renovated Villa Rothschild as the company is world renowned for the exquisite quality and beauty of its products. However, to match the luxurious historical buildings and interiors, I specifically requested a golden coloured product line, which perfectly complements the grand style of the Villa Rothschild,” said Bernhard L. Lacroix of the hotel’s management team.

“We are equally pleased with the new colour. The golden coloured products will most definitely add an additional element of style and sophistication to even the most luxurious surroundings” said Bang & Olufsen President and CEO Karl Kristian Hvidt Nielsen.

Just because it's mellow it doesn't mean it's less evil....
