    What have I got?

I picked up a motorized stand from next to the rubbish room.  It looks to be for the MX series as it resembles the stand for my MX8000, only smaller.  The front portion of the foot is 23" wide, the stand is about 15.5" deep and about 14" from the floor to the top of the lip on the tray.  The tray itself is secured to the stand by 6 screws and the tray measures 17.75" by 5.5".  It comes with a cable with 4 pins.

Also, how do I test to see if the motor works?

Could it be the motor stand for the older smaller MX's?

And yes, the older MX TV's motorized stand had a four-pin DIN cable instead of the newer 5-pin.

Thanks.  I would agree with you but I am not certain which MX models it might fit.

Also, is it possible to connect the 4-pin to my MX8000 to test whether the motor works?

Shouldn't hurt anything. May not work, though. Don't exactly know what the 5th pin is for.

    Hi Wings

Testing the stand with your MX8000 won't work. First the plug won't fit but even if you manage to connect the stand you won't be able to control it. The MX8000 (and the MX4200) are based on the BV1 chassis and not on the same chassis as the older MXs, so the whole control unit for the stand is different.
To test your stand you will need an MX from the MX3500/4000 or MX5500/6000/7000 range.

    Re: What have I got?

Thank you, gentlemen.  I guess I will let it sit in my flat until I can borrow the appropriate model to test out the motor.  Just more B&O to add to my collection.  ;)

    Re: What have I got?

Does the MX3000 have the ability to control a motorised stand?

I recently swapped the back cover for another cover and saw a covered up input that would seem to match a stand input, although I've not had a chance to test it!

    cheers
