    Aircraft engineer humour

    I know there are a few pilots on the site (not sure about aircraft engineers)

    P:    The problem reported by the pilot in the log book
    S:    The solution reported by the mechanic
     
    P:    Left inside wheel almost needs replacing
    S:    Left inside wheel almost replaced
     
    P:    Test flight OK, landing by autopilot too rough
    S:    This type of aircraft does not have autopilot landing installed
     
    P:    Something is loose in the cockpit
    S:    We have fixed something in the cockpit
     
    P:    Dead bugs on windscreen
    S:    Live bugs in backlog
     
    P:    The autopilot started to lose altitude at 200 fpm despite being set to "maintain altitude"
    S:    Unfortunately we were unable to reproduce this problem on the ground
     
    P:    Note pointing towards leak on right-hand side
    S:    Note removed
     
    P:    DME is unbelievably noisy
    S:    DME re-set to more believable noise level
     
    P:    IFF not functioning
    S:    IFF never functions when switched off
     
    P:    Suspect cracked windscreen
    S:    Suspect you're right
     
    P:    Engine No. 3 missing
    S:    Engine No.3 found under right wing after short search
     
    P.    Plane flies funny
    S:    Plane admonished to take things more seriously
     
    P:    Target radar humming
    S:    Target radar reprogrammed to speak properly
     
    P:    Mouse in cockpit
    S:    Installed cat

    P : Evidence of oil leak from right side landing gear.

    S : Evidence removed.

    P : No 2 engine leaking oil

    S : Oil seepage is normal and within limits, other 3 engines not seeping enough.

    P: Turn & slip indicator ball stuck in center during turns.
    S: Congratulations. You just made your first coordinated turn!

    P: Whining sound heard on engine shutdown.
    S: Pilot removed from aircraft.

    P: The autopilot doesn’t.
    S: It does now.

    P: Unfamiliar noise coming from No. 2 engine.
    S: Engine run for four hours. Noise now familiar.
