    RIAA Preamp in Beomaster 3500/4500

I was looking in the service manual with regards to the RIAA option. From what I can tell, this consisted of an add-on module inside the system, is this correct?

I was hoping that it was just an unpopulated area of the main PCB, but I guess this isn't the case.

I didn't really want to use an external amp, as the system will be mounted on the wall, and i'll be using a Beogram 3000, so there's no preamp in there.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

I had a BM4500 with the RIAA module but can not tell you any more than that. All I know is that it cost £15 extra when new!

I'd buy one now for £15 if they were still available!

Looks like i'll have to use an external one and hide it behind the wall brackets somehow.

    Ben.

Re: RIAA Preamp in Beomaster 3500/4500

    Hi Ben,

In the 1999 B&O Accesories Catalogue, on page 13, are listed 2 RIAA Preamplifiers

    1. Part 8002956 for the BeoMaster 3500/4500

    2. Part 8001245 for the BeoMaster 6500/7000

Now, the challenge is to find one!

And then to upgrade the capacitors and OpAmp, and THAT will be an RIAA amp worth listening to!

    Regards

    Menahem
