    Neighbour with B&O

I have a neighbour that can obviously control our system with his Beo4 remote. Is there anyway I can stop this happening, its really only started with the BV7-40, before that we had no problems at all.? Angry

Easy.  Steal his remote.  Then not only does the interference stop, but you get a free remote!  Yes, I was feeling helpful tonight...  Stick out tongue

Not much you can do. How does the signal get in? Do you have big windows?

I would go over and talk to him, he probably has the same problem with you.

There is always the option of using a range reducer but these are ugly.

Yes! I have big windows but he is not home much. He can point at me though I could not effect him. I'd have to point at his apartment over my shoulder and there is a wall between his equipment and mine.  He could simply wave towards the window near his couch into our place or from his office etc...

Come to think about us its lucky we have a little boy now, antic's of the past may have been a little risque....

If you just have 1 set, set it to option 4, so it reacts only to link commands.

There is a way to set your remote to only sent link commands as well.

If you want to set your Beo4 to "Link" mode and it is at least software version 5.0 then it will send the Link command in front of every command. The exception is the "TEXT" button and also excluded if "LINK" is chosen from the List, then you need to:-

    1. Press "STANDBY" and "LIST" at the same time
    2. Press ">>" until the display shows "CONFIG?"
    3. Press 2 then 0 then 0 then 2
    4. The display will now show "LINK ON"
    5. Press "EXIT"
    6. Use the same sequence if you want to make Beo4 show "LINK OFF" in the display

It should also be noted when in "LINK" mode it will only be able to control TVs which are set in Option 4.

    Regards Keith....

What if he's a BeoWorlder? What if it's ... you? Surprise

Would be fun to reprogram an LC2 to respond to the neighbour's TV-commands. Whenever the neighbour uses the Beo4, the light could come on big-time!

Just leave a horses head on his pillow, with a Beo4 clenched in it's teeth...

    He should get the hint

I have multiple rooms with B&O equipment so I'm not sure if that would work and some of the Beo4's have the old software.

    Re: Neighbour with B&O

..... On a long shot - Can you disable the BV7 internal IR receiver and have an external one attached away from prying Beo4's...

If it's big problem for you I would suggest, an extern Ir eye for  BV7. And place it on the same side as the window, or under something like a sofa, to limited the reception

I see there is now way you can change the settings of your remotes, so I guess you should try to ask your neighbor if he can.
