    Soundsmith cartridge!

Well, I broke down and bought the entry level cartridge from Soundsmith.  After I leveled the turntable, and set the tracking force with a scale, I sat down and put on Sade, Diamond Life.

I have to say the sound was startling!  I never knew my BG 3000 had it in it!  Absoulutly fantastic sound!

I agree. I do think they are better sounding than the originals.

    Hello,

In my opinion the difference between for example SMMC4 and MMC4 is not that big if you have a relatively "new" MMC4, especially on the audio side. On the mechanical tracking side there is a bigger difference in favour of the SMMC4.

I have a SMMC20EN and the type of diamond used seems very different to the B&O MMC20EN. Far more like a CL in some ways. Agree about the tracking but in my case the sound is also much clearer and sibilance much less on some of my difficult recordings.
