  • Re: New Panasonic 85" plasma, will it come to B&O?

I assume so yes. Organic LED (OLED) technology has been around for a while now (and is on the dashboard of the latest Lexus BTW). Samsung claim significant energy reduction vs LED and super slim housing the for the screen. The Koreans as usual dont understand how to maximise their margins on either new technology or hold their pricing in market. There

I agree Duncan, you have only so much space in your home and some screens are exhaustingly big now (particularly if they happen to be LCD). I bought the first Pioneer 42" Plasma nearly 6 years ago (I did showcase the B&O but it did not do it for me sorry) when I first moved to Singapore; it still IMHO has a picture quality that is hard to beat

  • Re: SP12 Cartridge

Thanks for the advice Frede. I shall go ahead and acquire the SP12. The unit is, I am assured, in full working order and pristine condition (certainly looks so from the photos). Lets hope so once the product is airfreighted to Singapore (should be in the air now). It has been amazingly packed is a special wooden crate so should hopefully be able to

Hi Frede, I am taking delivery shortly of a Beomaster 900RG which features, according to this erudite website (Beowrold) a Beogram 1000 with an ST/L 15 tonearm. Hence my original line of inquiry. There is available some original B&O SP12 cartridges so thought might invest in one of these. Seems you are something of a class Beomeister yourself. So

  • Re: SP12 Cartridge

Hi Peter, Thanks for that. I will stick to the SP7 or better still (if I can get one) the SP9. Any thoughts on where one might acquire the latter? Regards Simon

Hi Martin, Thanks for your greetings. I have checked out the excellent book by Jarman and Jarman and it looks like the beomaster 901. But if I am not wrong it was marked 801. Ther is also a matching casette deck Beocord 900 ( but again it might have been an 800 as I didnt have a chance to check out the model no on it). It is sitting in an antiques store

  • Re: Beocenter 801

Hi Peter, Thanks for the feedback. No, this is the point that has got me rather intrigued. It looks a bit like the Beomaster 800 in the picture (ie lovely aluminium slide rule type controls), but is a Beocenter and model number 801 so it has the AMFM tuner and amp, and separate speakers (look a bit like an early version of the S25s). Also a matching

  • Beocenter 801

I have come across a Beocenter 801 and matching Beocord Deck and speakers recently. Does anyone have any information on these items when they were produced (looks early 70's) etc? Appreciate your feedback - these units are in immaculate condition and looking for a good home (probably mine if I decide to buy)
