    Beocenter 801

I have come across a Beocenter 801 and matching Beocord Deck and speakers recently. Does anyone have any information on these items when they were produced (looks early 70's) etc?

Appreciate your feedback - these units are in immaculate condition and looking for a good home (probably mine if I decide to buy)

Do you mean the Beomaster 800? This was based on the Beomaster 901. As you say, early 70s and very stylish. 901s are quite common (they made lots!) so don't pay too much. A Beomaster 3000 is of a similar era and sedign and will give better performance. The Beocord will be the 900 probably, which is the first B&O deck - no Dolby usually.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for the feedback. No, this is the point that has got me rather intrigued. It looks a bit like the Beomaster 800 in the picture (ie lovely aluminium slide rule type controls), but is a Beocenter and model number 801 so it has the AMFM tuner and amp, and separate speakers (look a bit like an early version of the S25s). Also a matching cassette deck. So I am trying to determine how rare it might be and its provenance.

    Regards

I love the look of the Beomaster 800.

I can't recall ever seeing one for sale but I will certainly be keeping an eye out from now on!

Simon, welcome to Beoworld !  Yes - thumbs up

Beocenter 801 ? Never heard of that one before but there are some odd and rare ones out there.

Does it have a serial number label with a 4-digit type number, that number could be nice to know and will tell us more - also the speakers.
A couple of photos would also be nice to see, we like photos.  Stick out tongue

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for your greetings.

I have checked out the excellent book by Jarman and Jarman and it looks like the beomaster 901. But if I am not wrong it was marked 801. Ther is also a matching casette deck Beocord 900 ( but again it might have been an 800 as I didnt have a chance to check out the model no on it).

It is sitting in an antiques store as a complete system with matching shelf speakers that look a lot like S22s.

So looks like I should buy it - it looks absolutely stunning! And when I have it will photograph and send to the forum.

    Kind regards

    Simon

    Hi Jan,

Thanks for the link - I have the Jarman book but this site is far more comprehensive!

    Kind regards
