• Re: AST Help & Understanding
Geoff, I've researched the issue with the PS3 and the lack of utilizing all the speakers. It seems that it's a common surround processor issue found with cheaper surround processors. (I hope this matter can be fixed so that the BeoSystem 3 maintains it's status...

    Hi Razlaw,
1. The Beolab 1s are placed in the back corners of the room/sitting area. Just behind and to the sides of the sitting area. In the setup menu they are identified as as left and right surrounds. Is this the correct setting for a 5.1? My understanding is that...

  • Re: AST Help & Understanding
Thanks for the response, Geoff. I have the speakers correctly labeled as "surround" and "back." (I just used the terms "side surround" and "rear surround" to be more descriptive.) It seems odd that the BS3 uses the (side) surround...

  • Re: AST Help & Understanding
I have a 7.1 B&O speaker setup with my BeoSystem 3. All 7 speakers are rarely used. Moreover, there is a difference in sources as to which 5.1 speakers are used: with blu-ray (via PS3) 5.1 uses the side surrounds but not the rear surrounds, but TV and DVD use the...

  • Re: AST - Verständnisfrage
Just for BS3 based TVs. Is there any plan to bring it down to BV8 in the next years (e.g. by using a small "AST-Box" or better a SW Update? Thanks and have a nice weekend Heribert
Hi Heribert Sorry, but I don't have an answer to this question....
My question was very general about the AST. I learned so far that it just works with a Beosystem 3 powered setup (sad for me who owns a BV8). I also learned that I can make different sound preferences according where I am and what source I listen to. And I need 4 speakers...

  • Re: AST - Adaptive Sound Technology

Hi Evan, I like to think of AST as something similar to ABC in the BeoLab5. Where ABC corrects for timbral problems caused by a bad room or the fact that you stuck your speaker in a corner of the room, AST corrects for spatial problems cause by the fact that you aren't sitting exactly in the sweet...

  • Re: AST - Adaptive Sound Technology
Forgive me if I'm completely wong but this AST system sounds like it performs similar to the current stereo bose systems (the computer/desktop systems that "throw" the sound in way that it sounds like surround). The first part of that flatpanelshd article...

  • Re: AST - Verständnisfrage

Hi. I'm the guy behind AST at B&O in the acoustics department at B&O in Struer. I don't speak/write German well enough to respond to questions or problems in this forum in German, but I will be happy to answer questions about AST (the philosophy, what to expect from it, and setup issues...

Hi, Just thought that I'd drop into this Forum to help out - since I'm the guy in Struer behind AST... Doug's answers are perfect - he said what I would have said if I had gotten there first... I've just a couple of minor things to add... For info on speaker placement for 7.1, a good...
