I would strongly recommend a home demo before you buy. When I connected my BL3s direct to my BV8 rather then to my BC2 I noticed a huge difference in sound when playing CDs. in fact I am not using my BL3s anymore for watching TV. Giving the amount of money you are about to drop, I ask the dealer about it. Cheers JK [

I'd probably go ahead and get the BeoLab 5s just to be on the safe side
Yes, and a BV9 to be really safe.
Please don't tempt me. I'd look a bit sad sitting on the pavement watching my blank BV9 and listening to my silent BL5s having lost the house to the

Because no matter how many friends tell me it's just overpriced Philips/Panasonic/Samsung components in a pretty box I love the feeling of occasion whenever I turn it on.
Didn't this ring any alarm bells? 2. The speakers are still under 3 year warranty until December, 2008. Clearly cut and pasted from an old advert !! I'd probably go ahead and get the BeoLab 5s just to be on the safe side That's just the way my tiny mind works, even when I can't afford stuff. So, not a big deal, enjoyment wise? I was considering buying BL5s to keep the configuration tidy but if I'm not losing anything with the menu mismatch I'll probably stick. Cheers G

The BV5 does not have the BL9 in its menu of compatible speakers, probably due to its age? Is there an upgrade to the BV5 to allow the use of BL9 or should BL9 be used with BL1 or BL5 selected from the menu? Many thanks. G

Many thanks Craig. Can anyone recommend a Pre Amp? I see that there are battery powered units and mains units. I plan to upgrade the turntable to something that equals the performance of the speakers later so probably not the battery model? Many thanks Glenn
