So far, I have dismantled the deck three times looking for possible faults but still, nothing shows up. This is definitely a problem with the deck as I have swapped decks between machines. Hi Justin According to my manual, BC2300 only has a stop timer. Press STOP a few times to select the remaining time that you want the unit to play before switching off. Never used it myself. Can't seem to find anything in the way of timers to switch the unit on. Have fun Geoff

Just an update Did two things today, first tested the BM6000 and found that the heat sink temperature only went up about 15°C. I could put my hand on it quite comfortably. Second, dismantled the BM8000 to get access to the amplifier boards to set the no load currents. These were way off mark, the worst being around 250mV, so I reset them as close

When I have speaker problems, I always connect some headphones into the socket on the front. If those don't work, then there is usually a more serious problem. When there is sound at the headphones, the speakers are not too far away from working and that could be something simple like the use of the incorrect socket or a misplaced switch. Regards
