• Beolab 11 experience

I have the combination BL3s + BL11 for about 3 months. The day I installed the BL11 (after some 3 years with the BL3S by themselves) my first reaction was of disappointment. I notice some difference but not much. The fact, however, is that the more I listened to it the more I notice the huge subtle difference (if you know what I mean). it is subtle

Alex, I am driving them with a Quad 99 CDP, which is a cd player that also works as a preamp. I use it to listen do CDs and Apple lossless files through an IPOD and a Wadia 170i. This set up sounds great with the BL3s but as I said I would like to have some more presence and I believe that a subwoofer might to the trick.

Thanks. That is exactly the type of comment I was looking for. My problem is that I have the BL3s and the BL11 would fit in the room perfectly. On the other hand, if I go all the way to the BL9s I will have to rearrange all furniture and am not yet sure how to do it (and that's before talking to my wife...). It's a dilemma!

  • bl9 vs bl3+bl11

Has anyone been able to compare for stereo listening a pair of bl9s to a pair of bl3s plus a bl11? Although I like the bass of the bl3s, I believe it lacks a bit of presence to make the sound more natural. Would a bl11 make a significant difference? Would the sound become comparable to the bl9s?

Taking this opportunity, does anyone know any reviews of the BL3?

  • BL3 + BL11

A sales person told me at a B&O store in Canada that I should not use a BL11 together with BL3s. According to him the BL11 should be used only with less potent speakers. Is his comment correct? My idea is to include a BL11 in a set up where the BL3s are linked to a QUAD CDP-99 player. Does anyone know how to include the BL11 in my setup? What kind

  • Re: Beolab 3 vs Anthony Gallo's Strada speakers

When I started this thread I had only a very straight forward question in mind: how do the Stradas sound as compared to the BL3s. Both makers claim that the placement of these speakers in a room is not critical for their performance. I have the BL3s and like them very much, regardless of the fact that they are not ideally positioned in the room (you
Sorry, I forgot to say:- 1) Welcome to the forum afcintra! 2) Yes, you CAN use Beolab 2 and 7.2 with a generic A/V processor, in case anyone was wondering, you just have to send the correct trigger signals to switch on the speakers when no B&O source is present. Kind regards, Steve.
By the

  • Re: Beolab 3 vs Anthony Gallo's Strada speakers

It is interesting to see how people complain about how the hi-fi crowd treats B&O and do exactly the same when asked about some other equipment. I am super happy with my BL3s (actually am listening to them now...), but this do not make bash other equipment just because theyar are, or look, different. The Strada's have received some very good

  • Beolab 3 vs Anthony Gallo's Strada speakers

Has anyone listed to both B&O's Beolab 3 and Anthony Gallo's Strada speakers? The BL3 and the Stradas have both uncommon designs and both companies claim that the design if their speakers makes positioning them in a room less critical than normal. I have a pair of BL3 and have been happy with them for a few years, but I am curious at to
