Nice to hear that somebody had a memory of these "nerd rulers" I learnt to use basic funtions on my Grandfather's 1947 Diwa, a basic "Mannheim" model (the Einstein and Von Braun type). Multiply, devide, finding square roots, cubic roots and trigonometry. I had just acquired a ca. 1962 Nestler "Darmstadt" type model

I thought I might try to ask people here, as a couple of B&O products have been designed with the precision of a slide rule in mind. I suppose that many in here are familiar with the slide rule Fun facts: A skilled person can make calculations much faster than on pocket calculator. A slide rule is based on the relation to different logarithmic and

I did not read the OP close enough As for using google, there isn't much knowledge around on the net about this topic. Most speaker users most likely never remove a driver, let alone read and write model numers down/taking pictures

I normally use the quote "Learn from other people's mistakes, you'll not live long enough to make them all"
You know I would have once agreed with that, but then I had kids, and no matter how much you tell

Got the 4400 home for the first time in functioning condition, hooked up with my self-restorated Beovox S-75 speakers and a Beogram 4002 with an original SP15 stylus from 1973. I swear that it is cleaner and more detailed than my Beomaster 8000/Beovox MS150.2 combo.

First question: Does the capstan turn when the recorder is on? Secondly, Did you install the belts the right way and is it the right kit? The head block won't be kept engaged if the tape doesn't move at all as it senses that the tape side has played to it's end. Can the machine engage in rewinding? -Søren
