In my opinion you don't need it (but it may be nice to have it for some movies). I had the same configuration. I didn't like the BL2 for music. I think it was too much and not precise enough. On the other hand, BL8000 alone had not enpugh bass. I Decided to go for a pai of BL9. I had to cut back on the subwoofer settings to make music enyable

Razlaw, I stayed with the Beo4 for controlling all my equipment (connected to a BV9). But I can understand your frustration. I have a BDP-S350, which has the same remote as your BDP-S550. I did some serious reassignment of buttons and now I am quite happy with the way I can control my blu-ray. I added functions that weren't available thru the puc

For videos I have no problem with DRM. I don't buy videos in the iTunes store. Allmost all my audio ist in Apple lossless format. So I stick to iTunes. PLEX integrates with iTunes for audio. It can read the iTunes library and play whats in it. [quote user="TripEnglish"] They've lifted DRM on music, not movies. And with music, it's

Hi, are you talking about Snatch? I am playing around with it and it works fine for me. My planned setup will control PLEX with the Beo4 (thru the PUC of my BV9. When I have a need for specialities in PLEX I will grab my iPod Touch and control PLEX thru Snatch. I have the iPod Touch in reach, because I use it to control iTunes for my audio connection

Hi, at the moment I use my Mac Mini for audio only. It is connected throug an Airport Express and an DAC from Cambrige Audio to the aux in of my Beocenter 2500. The sound is excelent. I control iTunes via the Remote application for the iPod Touch. ( That's my two-way remote :-) ) I am experimenting to use the Mac Mini for video. I think Front Row

The BDPs shae a core set of IR commands. I have a BDP-S350 which shares the same remote control with the BDP-S550. B&O offers a PUC definition for the BDP-S300 and a definition called BDPxxx. So you can control the players from your BV4. The BDPS300 definition works for the basic functions. The BDPxxx seems to be derived from the BDP-S300 definition

What gives you the impression that the actual Mac Mini is "digital only"? Take a look at Apple's specification: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 128MB or 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory 3 Extended desktop and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports up to 1920 by 1200 pixels on a DVI or VGA display ; up to 2560

How have you configured the AV4 input of your BV7? Is it set to PC? msinn

The dvi of your BV7 supports analog and digitag signals, as does the mac mini. If you are sure the dvi cable is ok, the problem most likely is in the configuration of your BV7. How have you configured the inputs of your BV7? msinn

You can connect your mac mini in two ways: 1. Digital: You need an adapter from DVI to HDMI and use a HDMI input on your bv7 2. Analog: You need a VGA adapter from Apple (displayport to VGA or Mini-DVI to VGA) and connect it to the VGA input of your BV7 greetings msinn
