Do these more expensive DACS take 24-bit inputs? My understanding is AE only puts out 16-bit signals but the digital output on the iMac computer itself can put out 24.

The 9300 was most often displayed with Beolab 8000s in advertisements, as well as connection diagrams in the owner's manual.

This doesn't answer your question but might be relevant. I was just on an Apple discussion board about AE. Apparently it can do the digital output to your system, but it is limited to 16 bit even if you have 24 bit music on your iTunes. Peter : Clearly you cannot attach both at the same time. That's what I was afraid of. What I really want is the datalink version of beoport to control iTunes but they don't make it... but if they did, they could call it "BeoTunes"!

On the back of the unit there is a 7-pin DIN connector Tape2/Phono. From the beotech articles it appears that the pinout is such that there are not two separate channels, that you can have either a second B&O datalink device or a phono, but not both. Otherwise the output from the two devices are connected to the same input pins. Is this a correct

I made a wood shelf, but it is horizontal. The supports are wood, painted black.

I used the MCL2A/V on a link system to control my TV speakers (CX-50+Cona). I also use a Lintronic box to control the TV and DVD player. This all works fine, but the MCK was always more sensitive than the Lintronic box. For example, if you hold the remote below a table and push buttons, you see the red light respond on the MCL but not the Lintronic

Product idea #1- dock for iPod that appears as tape unit. There was a ridax thing but is that still available? This is a great idea because it would bring many older vintage products into the digital age easily and it would be a fairly simple product. Just do it. Product idea #2- like #1, plugs into socket on main unit but works with iTunes rather than

I have a 9300 and two 3500's. The MCL cable goes from the 9300 to the 3500. You do not need the MCL2AV for that. I have the MCL2AV, which is also fed via the MCL cable, but that is to run a pair of CX-50's.

How would you adjust volume? To the BL5's respond directly to the remote? Or does the computer scale the amplitude on output depending what the computer's volume is set at?
