BM4500 has version 1.6 MX5500 has version 2.2S I read elsewhere on the forum that the BM4500 can be upgraded to version 2.2 Exactly what is the delta between 1.6 and 2.2?
-
Yes it does but I thought the amplifier in the BM4500 is more powerful. So I use A.OPT 0, V.OPT 2 and connect the speakers to the MX5500?

Bad news i'm afraid, there is no was to do this with the MX range of TVs. In europe I think the MX range are either continental european (PAL B/G) or UK (PAL I) and it is a different tuner board between them. I think the NICAM encoding is also different between the UK and the rest of europe.

I want to use an MX5500 with a BM4500 and a pair of P45s in a bedroom. The TV and BM will be connected via the their respective AUX sockets and the P45s connected to the BM4500. If I set the BM4500 to option 2 (displays 2.5) and the MX5500 to option 0 with its speakers set to External then sound comes from the P45s connected to the BM4500 as expected

You should go for an active (powered) B&O AM antenna http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1003 http://www.beocentral.com/products/am10 I use one daily in Holland for BBC R4 LW and difference is quite remarkable. From the spec on Beoworld I don't see a 110v version so you may need a stepdown tranformer. Richard

I have just brought a second hand Beotalk 1200. It came with an incorrect wire but I eventually managed to get it to work with the help of other Beotalk posts on the forum. Once powered up I performed a factory reset (+01234+) and then proceeded to set a answer message before calling the machine, letting it answer and then leaving a message. All seems

I use a generic 5 pin DIN to female phono and coonect this to a 3.5mm to twin phono lead. Just switch the BeoCenter to AUX turn on the iPod and try the pug combinations until you get a sound.

I use a basic iPod dock toghther with a homemade 3.5mm - 5 pin DIN lead that is connected to the AUX input on the 2500 (an Overture in my case). You just switch to the A AUX to select the iPod.

If you are near South Limburg (Netherlands) I can have a look at it for you. I have restored a couple of Beomaster 2200 which are the same as your Beocenter minus the record deck. This B&O model is well made and worth restoring... Richard
