  • Microprocessor for a Beomaster 6000 Type 2253

As it says, I need a replacement microprocessor. I am reliably informed that there are two types depending on whether the processor board has a piggy-back board or not. The one I am looking for is without the biggy back board. These are the numbers on the chip:- Mostek 3870/20 MK14636N-IRL 8340285B&O Yours hopefully.... Richard

  • Re: Beomedia 1 questions (and an interesting finding...)

Well B&O have now apparently stopped updating the software for the BM1. I think (presume) that the OS image version refers to the version they put in the restore image. After a respore, both versions are equal and then the update version changes as updates are pushed. Let us know how you get on with the keyboard driver experiment... Richard

Hi Martin I'm not home until tomorrow but I' faily sure that WMP is at verison 10 after all of the automatic updates have completed. This appears to be done in several steps and I have found that it is best just to let the device get on with it and not interfere by checking for updates myself. After all updates are installed I think you should

Hello Martin, What problems have you encountered with XPe? The updates should come automatically and the drivers should all be there too. It is quite difficult to understand the complete restore process because the files are obfuscated to stop you from tampering with them. I also think that the BeoMedia application is quite tightly coupled to the the

Well it is clear that the inability of the IDE/SATA converter to read the S.M.A.R.T data from the SATA drive causes the tempmon.exe process to crash at startup (Runtime Overflow 6) and that the B&O user interface is blocked until the crashed process is acknowledged (<alt tab> <esape> <carrige return> . Furthermore, with the tempmon

I think that the problem with the first type of adaptor that I used was that it was not possible to in any way select whether the disk was master/slave or channel select. There is a jumper on the new type and the paper that comes with it states that you must use the master jumper setting if the disk you are using it on is a boot boot drive. The hidden

It would seem that all SATA to IDE converters are not equal or transparent as far as Windows in concerned. I ordered and fitted a ST-106-2 like you used and the disk immediately worked as expected and I am currently performing another full restore just to make sure there are no glitches. One thing I have noticed is that is that the HDD temp figure is

Thanks for getting back to me. Copying the original disk/image to an IDE drive is no problem, it works and more importantly, it works if your perform a recovery from the recovery partition with the new drive too. However, if I make a copy from the same source (disk or image) to a SATA drive it does not work; attempting to boot either the Beomedia or

Well Beobuddy, I took your advice and have attempted to upgrade the harddisk to a 2TB Samsung SATA using a PATA/SATA converter (the type that fits on the back of the drive). I have a disk image of the device that I have already tested by using it to create another smaller IDE and then going through the complete restore update cycle and I used this same
