I've been permitted a little bit of shelf space in the lounge for items that would otherwise be in their boxes!

Just added a photo to my previous post - 'a picture paints a thousand words'!

I've got an MCL extra speaker kit connected to my BC9500. In answer to your questions: The black lead is not used - in most cases I have seen the wire cut short (and yes mine does contain white nylon - possibly for strength) The white data cable should be treated like the other wires and connected to the correct data terminal. It does have metal

Have you read this? I think it could work with MX4000 but not the 2300. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/29071.aspx

If you've been using the PS3 with HDMI it needs resetting to component: simply keep your finger on the PS3 'power on' button when you turn it on; hold for several seconds until you hear a second 'beep'. Then it should work with component output.

I think the cable between the Beolink Converter and the BM5500 should be plugged into the Audio Aux Link socket (not Powerlink) on the converter. That is how mine is connected between my BV3 and BC9500. To get Radio throught the TV speakers I then press 'AV' then 'Radio'. To get SAT through the BC9500 I press 'AV' then 'SAT'

I just got hold of a Beo1, tried this with mine and after a few attempts it worked perfectly and will now control my BV3. Only thing I can't do is switch on the digibox via the STB controller. A very useful thread for Beo1 owners!

They could be 'Micro JST connectors' - a search suggests that R/C model hobby shops may supply but I think there are a few different sizes.

(From memory so I could be wrong!) When it's turned off, press the 'mute' button on the front panel (NOT remote) and the green light disappears - I think it's a timer function. Hope this works - can't help with the other problem but perhaps take it to bits and give it a good clean!
-
The first problem is probably a faulty mute relay - very common on BC9000/9500 and replacements readily available and cheap (no need to buy the B&O replacement!). I changed mine myself but any technician will be able to replace when he is fixing the other faults. Sorry but I can't help with the other probs. Good luck!
