I've now checked the VX again. Can confirm that even though there wasn't very much black around the caps on the capston motor board, the chip is running very hot, immediately after switch on, just nursing the blister on the finger, to prove it :-) The tuner is fine so I'll contact Martin, see if he has any spares, save me having to strip

Cheers, although for the moment I've only got the speakers connected. After a couple of power cycles of the speaker and the Beocenter it seems to have stablised. At one point the penta display was blank and I couldn't get it back!!! Also, I found a small switch on the bottom VIDEO / AUDIO, twas set to Video so I've flicked it back to Audio

Can I assume that ALL BV3 have at least 2 x PL output for external speakers, whether or not it has the DSS card fitted?

Hi there, Not sure if this is a fault with my Penta 2 or not so just checking here to see in anyone else ever experienced the problem. Basically, due to lack of spare Powerlink Sockets and wiring logistics, my setup up is Beocenter 2300, 1 x PL cable to right speaker and 1 x PL cable to the left speaker but then a second PL cable from this left speaker
