I have this one with my 4000s: http://velodyne.com/subwoofers/shop-by-series/eq-max-series/eq-max-8.html Not the prettiest thing but it sounds good and equalization feature worked very well

I have lab 5 as fronts and 3s as rears so I have a good platform to start with. The biggest difference in my system, and it isn't close, has been running the speakers from a high end surround sound processor (Anthem D2). Using the included room correction system, called ARC, completely changed the sound and all of the associated audiophile mumbo

Oh, and furthermore, When setting up the speaker configurations on the processor, you would set the lab 5s to "large" and the lab 3s to "small". You would select "none" for center and subwoofer. If I had a chance back when I bought my BL5, I would likely have purchased the BS5 to go with them. It is a beautiful unit in sight and touch. Wasn't out yet. As it is, I have my lab 5 connected directly via dig coax to a Sonos zp90. I also have my bs9000 connected as well. I made this possible using a digital audio splitter which automatically

Just wanted to provide an update. I ended up replacing the pro-ject turntable with a VPI classic with a Benz Micro Glider cartridge. I kept the bellari tube preamplifier and have that running to the BS 9000 Aux. The sound is truly what I've been seeking since I began this silly high end audio obsession. Warm, rich and totally non fatiguing. I'm
