  • Re: U70 headphones - how do I dismantle them?

Oops! Thankfully, I'm not at home at the moment, or I would have tried already. Thank you, Peter. I would have kicked myself otherwise. Mark

  • Re: U70 headphones - how do I dismantle them?

Thank you for installing the manuals, Peter. Unfortunately, they don't really show how to dismantle the headphones, as assembly screws are not shown... but glue is mentioned. I guess that I simply have to lever off the large metal cover on the faulty side, whilst trying not to bend it! Mark

  • U70 headphones - how do I dismantle them?

In the absence of a U70 service manual, I can't see how to open up one side of the headphones. The left-side has become intermittent, so I need to open it up, and probably re-solder the wires. Can you suggest how I can open that side, as I don't want to lever off the metal cover and find I've thereby broken something. Thank you, Mark

  • Re: For Sale & Wanted Forums- News

Surely that's a matter of etiquette. In the good-old-days of internet news, every xxx.sale group had an associated xxx.sale.d group, for discussions on items from the xxx.sale group. Follow-ups to the xxx.sale group were frowned upon. Unfortunately, once aol and others started letting in the general public, this aspect of netiquette became ignored

  • Re: Beocom 6000 - identification

meandmyshadow: There is a section of FAQ's already and in there is a section on compatability of BeoCom 6000 & BeoCom 2 phones with the various PSTN bases. Not when I look at it! It tells me "no results found" for each of BeoCom 6000 and BeoCom 2. Mark

  • Re: Beocom 6000 - identification

Thank you for your help. It's not easy working out how to identify the variants, and those of who can only afford to buy second-hand need to be able to tell the difference! Mark

  • Re: Beocom 6000 - identification

Thank you, guys, that's really helpful, and I now understand how to differentiate the handsets. Now, one more question... How can I tell whether a base is for a mk1 or a mk2 handset? As an aside... given that there seem to be so many variants of B&O kit, would it be worth collecting details such as these into an "identification" section of the website

  • Beocom 6000 - identification

I gather from the "products" part of the website that the Beocom 6000 was made in two versions, and that the newest phones can't be used with the old base stations. How do you tell, from looking at the phone or the base station, whether you have a new or an old version? I assume that on the new phone, there will be a 3.5mm jack socket

  • Re: For sale and wanted sections of beoworld.

Perhaps it would be worth making a summary of the For Sale and Wanted sections available to Bronze members. This could consist of a table of Subject lines, and would have two benefits: 1. Bronze members could see another reason to upgrade, 2. Posting members would write the Subject line more carefully. Mark

  • Re: Beogram 3300 Record Deck

My Beogram 1000 has a lovely pre-amp in it. It was the first PCB I ever made, and I made it to the circuit B&O kindly supplied with the deck. It worked first time, and was probably the spark which caused me to train later as an electronic engineer. Mark
