Hi everyone, I thought I would share a good idea that has allowed me to increase the capability of my Beosystem 3500 and which has given me music all around the house at a fraction of the cost of a Beolink installation. I apologise in advance if this is simple stuff that everybody already knows - you'll have to humour me, as I've only just worked

Hi Jazz, The best event I have been to has to be the one that started my B&O obsession, about 20 years ago - my local dealer (Leicester) hired the Banqueting Hall of a stately home (Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire) to demonstrate their latest products, including:- Redline 7000 speakers Beolab Penta speakers Beocenter 9000 Beosystem 5500 I was absolutely

Problem solved! I spoke to the engineer who recently serviced the system and he has put my mind at rest. Apparently, there are four regulating transistors bolted to the heat sink and in normal use it is designed to get HOT (not just warm!). That is why the CD player has a heat sink with external metal fins, so that the extra heat can be dissipated.

Thanks Roman, It sounds as though I could have a problem with my CD player! I will call the dealer and get it checked out. My system sits next to an armchair, so I don't really want to risk letting it start a fire......... I'll let you know the outcome. Steve.

Hi everyone, I've just become the proud owner of an IMMACULATE Beosystem 3500 (cassette, turntable, CD and tuner/amp) and after two evenings of intensive use, I already absolutely love it! Although I know most people prefer the shiny 4500 version, for me the subdued grey colour scheme of the 3500 is the perfect understatement. However, one thing

Thanks Guys, My Beomaster 1900 is currently mounted flat to the wall (ie. no brackets), so I think I'll go for the same option with the 3500. As the amps are the same size, I'm guessing that the screw holes may even be in the right places! I'll get the glass panels checked before hanging it up though! Thanks again for all your quick and

Hi everyone, I'm considering buying a BeoSystem 3500 (ie. Beogram, Beomaster, Beocord and Beogram CD 3500 from about 1990) to replace my ageing Beomaster 1900. I curently have the 1900 mounted on the wall and this does not need an extra bracket, as it has two slotted holes in the bottom plate that can be used to hang it onto a wall using two screws

Hi Puncher, I'm not sure what general opinions of the RedLine 60 are, but I LOVE them! I know they don't quite have the same bass weight or overall tone of the 140, but when properly upgraded (ie. bass port instead of ABR, plus 250 volt uprated capacitors), the original mk.1 RL60 can really sing. Their only real failings are their sensitivity

Hi everyone, Thanks again for all the ideas! The reason I had to ignore the BL9's is that we have a toddler in the house - that acoustic lens is just at eye level for our resident "explorer", with a very inviting soft dome tweeter just within reach inside...... At least with the Pentas, the grilles protect the drivers to some extent and

Hi everyone, thanks for all the replies! My local friendly B&O dealer have said that they expect to have a pair of BeoLab Pentas coming in part-ex soon, so they will give me first refusal. I'll also ask them for a comparison with the BL3's when I go in. I've said to them that I would ideally like to buy the speakers as a package with
